Dear Friends
A year has passed since my election as President, and I must say I have enjoyed it immensely. I hope I have carried out my responsibilities as you would have wished, and would like to thank my ‘team’ for their support: Dennis, who was always there to step into my shoes and who runs the membership very well; Angie and Daphne for a great deal of hard work in the accounts department, and bridge; Rita, our secretary, who deals with my lapses and copes with our busy committee meetings; Celia for producing the magazine and website; Marianne and Michael for promoting the bell ringing which is proving very popular; Malcolm for guarding the door and looking after bowls; Mary and John for whist; and to Josie and John, Sue and Les, Adrienne, Anita. Pat and Eileen for all their hard work and worry in organising various events and functions.
Finally, my thanks to all of you for being such a happy and cheerful group of people who I am privileged to call my friends.
